Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, in collaboration with the Fund for the Promotion and Development of Educational Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities, has implemented an active learning innovation development project for Special Education Centers in the Northern Region.

     Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, in collaboration with the Fund for the Promotion and Development of Educational Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities, the Special Education Administration Office, Office of the Basic Education Commission, Ministry of Education, organized the project titled “Development of Active Learning Innovations Using Concrete Media Integrated with Learner Competency Enhancement for Students with Visual, Hearing, Intellectual, Learning Disabilities, and Autism” (Northern Region). The event was held from 27–28 September 2025 at Chiangmai Phucome Hotel, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai Province.

    Mr. Kongkrapan Welusaroach, Chiang Mai Provincial Education Officer, graciously presided over the project’s opening ceremony.
Assistant Professor Dr. Duangporn Saengthong, Assistant to the President for Special Affairs at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, delivered the project overview and objectives to the chair of the ceremony.A total of 210 teachers and educational personnel from 15 Special Education Centers in the Northern Region participated in the project.
     The objective of this initiative is to enhance participants’ knowledge and understanding of Active Learning strategies using concrete media integrated with learner competency development. The project aims to equip teachers with the ability to apply these approaches effectively to students with disabilities, as well as to develop model innovations that can be extended to all 77 Provincial Special Education Centers nationwide, benefiting more than 1,200 teachers and educational personnel across the country. This initiative is expected to significantly contribute to the long-term improvement of educational quality for students with disabilities.
