Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, in collaboration with the Fund for the Promotion and Development of Education for Persons with Disabilities, the Office of Special Education Administration, and the Office of the Basic Education Commission, Ministry of Education, organized the project “Developing Innovative Active Learning by Using Concrete Media to Enhance Learner Competencies for Students with Visual, Hearing, Intellectual, Learning, and Autism Disabilities” (Southern Region) during 25–26 October 2025 at Crystal Hotel, Hat Yai, Songkhla Province.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Assistant Professor Dr. Duangporn Saengthong, Assistant to the President for Special Affairs, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. Mr. Kritsada Kaewpradab, Director of the Special Education Center, Education Area 3, Songkhla Province, acting as Director of Satun Special Education Center, reported the objectives of the project to the president.
The project was attended by 213 teachers and educational personnel from 14 special education centers in the Southern Region. The aim was to equip teachers and educational staff with knowledge and understanding of active learning strategies using concrete media combined with the development of learner competencies. Participants could apply the knowledge appropriately to students with disabilities and develop a model for innovative learning management that can be extended to all 77 provincial special education centers nationwide, reaching over 1,200 teachers and educational personnel, ultimately enhancing the quality of education for students with disabilities sustainably.
