Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, in collaboration with the Fund for the Promotion and Development of Education for Persons with Disabilities, is implementing a project to develop active-learning innovations for Special Education Centers in the Central Region.

     Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, in collaboration with the Fund for the Promotion and Development of Education for Persons with Disabilities, the Bureau of Special Education Administration, Office of the Basic Education Commission, Ministry of Education, organized the project: “Developing Instructional Innovations Using Concrete Media Integrated with Learner Competency Development to Enhance Skills for Students with Visual, Hearing, Intellectual, Learning Disabilities, and Autism” (Central Region). The project was held from 4–5 October 2025 at The Royal River Hotel, Bang Phlat District, Bangkok.

     Assistant Professor Dr. Duangporn Saengthong, Assistant to the President for Special Affairs, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, presided over the opening ceremony. Ms. Suwanna Chumphukaew, Director of the Special Education Center of Chachoengsao Province, delivered the report on the project objectives to the chairperson.

     A total of 389 teachers and educational personnel from 28 Special Education Centers in the Central Region participated in the project. The objective was to enhance teachers’ knowledge and understanding of Active Learning strategies using concrete media integrated with learner competency development. Participants will be able to apply these approaches appropriately in teaching students with various disabilities. The project also aims to develop model practices and innovative instructional methods that can be expanded to all 77 provincial Special Education Centers nationwide, benefiting more than 1,200 teachers and educational personnel, and ultimately contributing to the sustainable improvement of educational quality for learners with disabilities.
